Editorial Process
How we research, write, edit, and fact-check — including our AI-assistance and human-editing policy.

Our editorial process
Tea & Peace exists to give you tea guidance you can actually trust and use. That means being transparent about how our content is made. Here is our process, start to finish.
Research
Every guide starts with research. We look at how tea is actually brewed and enjoyed, cross-reference specifics — steep times, ratios, caffeine ranges, water temperatures — against reputable sources, and gather the real questions people ask about a topic. Where we cite a factual claim (for example, caffeine content or a health-adjacent point), we link to an authoritative source such as an established publication, a university, or a health organization.
Writing and AI assistance
We use AI tools to help with research and first drafts. We think that is worth stating plainly, because trust matters more than pretending otherwise. AI is a drafting and research assistant here — it is never the final author. Google itself recommends disclosing when content is substantively produced with AI, and we agree.
Human editing
Every article is edited by a real person — our founder, Sukie Gao — before it is published. That human editing step is where the piece becomes genuinely useful: we correct anything inaccurate, cut filler, add practical detail from real brewing experience, and make sure the guidance is something we would actually follow ourselves. Nothing goes live as raw, unedited AI output.
Fact-checking and updates
Tea facts do not change often, but our understanding and our writing improve over time. We review guides periodically and update them when we can make them clearer or more accurate. When a page is meaningfully revised, we update its "last updated" date to reflect the real change — not on every automatic rebuild.
Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes, and we want to fix them. If you spot an error, please tell us through our contact page. We will look into it and update the guide if you are right.
Our stance on health claims
Tea & Peace is a tea site, not a health site. We write about flavor, method, culture, and the calm ritual of tea. When we mention that a tea might suit a relaxed evening or a focused morning, we are describing everyday experience and general wellbeing, not giving medical advice or claiming that any tea treats, cures, or prevents a condition. For anything health-related, please consult a qualified professional.
How we make money
Some guides contain affiliate links, mainly through the Amazon Associates program. If you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never influence our recommendations or our editorial judgment. Full details are on our affiliate disclosure page.
